Brian Smith's Bio
Hi, I was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1958 but, I now live and work on a highland
estate in Aberdeenshire almost bang in the middle of the Scottish Highlands.
I started drawing with pencils and ink at an early age, mostly wildlife sketches,
but especially birds of prey. I've always had a fascination for them and hunting
with birds of prey (Falconry) is my other "hobby" apart from Bryce.
I consider myself very fortunate in that most of my working days are spent
outdoors in the midst of one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, which
I'm sure influences my Bryce scenes quite a lot. I started trying computer graphics with a programme called Deluxe Paint
on my first computer - an Amiga 500. I then upgraded to a PC and found Bryce
2 on the cover disc of PC Format magazine and was instantly hooked. I'm now
using Bryce.5 alongside Poser.5 and very occassionally Photoshop for some minor
touch-ups in postwork, but, most of my images contain no postwork at all. I'm
also learning a programme called "Sketchup" at the moment, which
is a brilliant programme for making 3D models of buildings that can be imported
into Bryce. Regards..... Brian
