Paul Pappathan's Bio
Call
me Pinhead, Pappathan, Paul, whatever you like - as long as it doesn't violate
the law here.
My introduction to art occurred in the 60's
after viewing an exhibit by Andrew Wyeth which inspired me to try my hand at watercolors.
Very strange results ensued and I actually sold most. Amazing eh? My digital imaging
experience began in the early 80's when I was introduced to photolithographic
design using Digital PDP-1011's as an interpreter for mainframes. I also began
experimenting with collimated light and lasers during this period. Just for fun.
Later, I somehow became involved in high-energy computerized axial tomography
for military use.
To this day I use MRI and CAT scans
of my brain as grayscales and image bases for lattices in Bryce. In the 90's the
advent of home computers changed everything. My first programs (other than programming
stuff) were RayDream and Photoshop 2.5. My brother introduced me to Bryce in early
1997 and I was hooked. I now use Bryce, ZBrush, Photoshop and Rhino as primary
programs and am more addicted than ever. It's a pleasure and honor to be here
at Infinitee Designs!
