3D Box Art |
Sometimes you need to create a 3D software box, hardcover book, or other
box-like object in a pinch. It could be done the long way by using a 3D
program, or you could even take a digital photo of the real item. However,
a fairly good result can be achieved with nothing more than a 2D image
of the cover of the box and Photoshop. |

3D Transform Filter Revival |
Here's a list of useful guides and tips on making the most out of the
3D Transform Filter. For those using Photoshop CS, you've probably noticed by now thet the
the 3D Transform Filter is not installed by default with the standalone
Photoshop CS or within the Creative Suite. To install it, Make sure Photoshop is closed. Go to your original
installation package (in my case the Creative Suite, Premium Edition)
and insert the 'Resources and Extras' cd. Browse to '(Drive Letter):\Goodies\Photoshop
CS\Optional Plug-Ins\Filters' folder and copy the '3D Transform.8BF' file
into '((Drive Letter):\Program Files)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Filters'
folder. |

Animation in Photoshop CS2 |
With the introduction of the Animation palette in Adobe Photoshop CS2,
rotoscoping in the world's most popular pro image editing application
has become a reality. Well, almost. As we discussed last week, the trick
is getting your animations into Photoshop in the first place. With 8-bit
image sequences, the idea is to use ImageReady as a jumping off point.
But ImageReady doesn't support 16-bit images. So how do you get 16-bit
sequences into Photoshop while maintaining your original bit depth? By
